Designer Notes
Rees Jones redesigned the Highlands course in 2006. AAC Golf Course and Grounds Director and Project Manger Ken Mangum worked with Rees Jones, his key staff members Bryce Swanson and Clyde Hall and Kerry Haigh of the PGA, to produce a true championship venue. The course is strategically bunkered with narrow fairways that are ready for the 2011 PGA Championship.
In the Spring of 2016, work has started on the club’s famed Highlands Course which includes removal or rebuilding of a select group of bunkers, replacement of all bunker sand, rebuilding of the number 14 green surface to increase the number of hole locations, as well as the addition of new forward tees on twelve holes to improve course playability.
