Client Course Description

Experience the perfect course for busy schedules and all skill levels, designed by the renowned Rees Jones. With 9 scenic holes ranging from 43 to 137 yards, this layout offers a fun, accessible challenge for beginners and seasoned golfers alike. The shorter play times are ideal for tight schedules, while the beautiful surroundings of the Gold Course create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a quick round or relaxed practice.

Designer Notes

“The Shoe” marks a new era for golf at Colonial Williamsburg.  This new, nine-hole par-3 golf course reimagines about one-third of the former Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed nine-hole executive length Spotswood Course, adjacent to The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.  This original venue embraces the growing popularity of compact, family-friendly golf courses and offers a new experience for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

This is the resort’s first new course in 33 years.  It will provide a fresh and accessible golfing experience with shorter playing times, perfect for a quick outing with friends, active families and first-time players.

Set within the breathtaking scenery of the legendary Golden Horseshoe complex, surrounded by mature trees and stunning views, The Shoe expands the resort’s golf offering to 45 holes of championship golf.
