Adelaar, a meticulously planned, year round destination resort will feature not only the Resorts World Catskills but also The Monster golf course. Originally Designed in 1963 by Joe Finger, the World Famous golf course, The Monster, was rated by Golf Digest as one of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. At 7,650 yards from the “Monster Tees”, this par 72 challenges every player with length, extensive bunkering, and a variety of water hazards.
Designer Notes
A new golf course that’s being created on part of the existing Monster and International courses. A large portion of the land where the original Monster course sat was used for the new Resorts World Casino and a large portion of the land where the International course sat is now the new Kartrite Water Park Resort. A new course is being created on the existing footprint of these two courses and features some of the design elements and feel of the old Monster Golf Course. The course will allow players to be challenged, but it will also give players options to maneuver through it based on their abilities. Everything from the sense of the arrival, to the views and the vistas, will create quite a bit of the same historical feel.
